Little Wenatchee 10 Year Anniversary Shoot
So I have been playing around with editing some of my older work in my current pared down processing style, and it has been a joy to relive some of these memories. These two have since become some of our dearest friends. They came to Wenatchee, when we were still living there, to do this little wedding inspired shoot for their 10 year anniversary. And they just celebrated their 15th! Congrats to Justin and Stephanie on 15 years of getting better every year! We love you guys.
Are you a photographer? Do you remaster your old work? Or do you prefer to love it and leave it? It is funny to look at these images and feel two things simultaneously…….I still LOVE the photos so much. But I also think “oh…..the focus and quality issues. This poor photographer had so much to learn.” I hope in another 10 years I will think the same thing about the work I am making now, and no matter how long I am making pictures, I hope I will keep learning and growing. But none of that growth, or change in style, or improvement in technique takes away from the importance of the images we have already made. These images still captured a moment in time, which we do not want to forget. They capture moments which are important to the friends and clients who trust us to be there on their most important days. So despite the improvements we make in our technique, the important thread that connects our whole lifetime of making pictures, is the people in them. I will always strive to pay more attention to the people in my photos, than the technique of photo making.
